Privacy policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
The short version: your game stays on your device, there are no accounts and no cookies, and we count visits anonymously with our own privacy-friendly analytics.
What stays on your device
The counter saves your game (life totals, names, colors, counters and history) and your settings in your browser's local storage, so a refresh or a closed tab does not lose the game. This never leaves your device.
A small service worker keeps a copy of the site's own files on your device so the counter works with no signal. It stores no personal data. Clearing your browser's site data for lifecounters.com removes all of it.
Our privacy-friendly analytics
We count visits with our own small first-party script. It keeps a random ID in local storage that changes every day, so we can count visitors without knowing who anyone is. It sends us:
- the page you opened, and the name of the website that sent you here (just the site name, never the full address or search words);
- a rough device type (phone or computer) and a short ping while the tab is open, so we can see how many people are using the counter right now;
- one "counter used" event the first time each game is changed.
It uses no cookies, does not fingerprint your device and collects nothing that identifies you. We do not sell or share this data with anyone.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse, and it gives us anonymous totals such as request counts and visitor countries.
No accounts, no cookies, no ads
There is nothing to sign up for and the site sets no cookies. There is no advertising code and no Google Analytics on the site today. If either is added later, we will update this page first, and visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before anything that uses cookies loads.
Screen and vibration
While a game is open the page asks your browser to keep the screen awake, and it can make a short vibration on taps. Both can be turned off in the table menu, and neither stores or sends anything.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Wherever you live (including under the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California), you can clear everything the site stores by clearing your browser's site data. Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to look up, hand over or delete. We do not sell or share personal information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Questions about privacy: [email protected].
